Ruthann Lykens

She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late Andrew Sr. and Jean (Engle) Walter. On Oct. 20, 1990, she married Jon Dean Lykens at Penn State All Faith Edith Davis Chapel, Altoona.

Surviving are her beloved husband, Jon; a brother, Andrew Walter (wife, Karen) of Hollidays­burg; many nieces; many great-nieces; and a great-nephew.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Fred and John Walter.

She was a 1978 graduate of Bishop Guilfoyle High School and a 1984 graduate of Penn State, where she studied to be a registered nurse and a certified gerontology nurse. She retired as a nurse instructor from Hollidaysburg Veterans Home.

Ruthann was a very selfless person and always put others first, helping out whoever she could. She loved animals and had many treasured pets over the years.

At the request of the deceased, there will be no public service.

Cremation will be handled by Brown Funeral Home & Cremation Services Inc., Duncansville.
