Christopher E. ‘Chris’ Horton

Surviving are his beloved father, Don; a daughter, Mandy Horton (Brian Robinson); a granddaughter, Riley; a sister, Donna Weaver; a brother, Stephen Horton; several nieces and nephews; and numerous extended family members in Oklahoma, Ohio and Pennsylvania.

Chris was preceded in death by his brother, James D. “Jamie” Horton; and a long-term girlfriend, Tricia Rupert.

He was a 1979 graduate of Altoona Area High School and was employed at the Altoona Area School District for the next 43 years, which is where he retired from on Aug. 22, 2024.

Chris loved playing softball, bowling, singing karaoke and laughing with friends. Recently, his main priority was spending quality time with his daughter and granddaughter.

Friends will be received for visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, April 28, 2025, at Myers-Somers Funeral Home Inc., 501 Sixth Ave., Altoona, where friends and family will be welcome to share memories at 7 p.m.

Interment will be made at Calvary Cemetery, Altoona.
