EBENSBURG — Cayden Helsel scored a deciding goal in a shootout Tuesday night to lead the Altoona ice hockey team to a 5-4 victory in high school action at the North Central Recreation Center.

Helsel scored two goals and added an assist for the Mountain Lions (3-4), who forced the game into a shootout, thanks to a goal from Parker Mirobelli. Teammate Ricky Crum also scored for Altoona.

The Mountain Lions are off until Tuesday, Dec. 17, at home with Johnstown.

Austin Semelsberger had a goal and an assist to lead the Central Cambria hockey team to a 3-2 win over Hollidaysburg at Galactic Ice.

Kayden Park and Thomas Smith also scored for the Devils. Isaac Miller and Cole Hartman scored for the Tigers.
