Altoona volleyball earns road victory

HARRISBURG — Altoona lost the first two sets (29-27, 25-15) but battled back to claim the next three (25-16, 27-25, 15-10) in a come-from-behind victory over Central Dauphin East Wednesday night in boys high school volleyball action.

Lukas Weathersbee collected 18 kills, 12 service points, six digs and one block to lead the Mountain Lions.

Teammate Luke Mitchell tallied 12 digs and eight kills, Caleb Terza dished out 38 assists, Nino Yohn finished with 26 digs, and Kallen Plunket added 10 points.

ALTOONA: Weathersbee 12, Plunket 10, Yohn 7, Terza 5, Mitchell 5, Coldwell 4, Huey-Kish 3.

Records: Altoona (1-1); Central Dauphin East (1-1).

JV: Altoona won 2-0 (25-21, 25-19).

Eagles fall

MIFFLINTOWN — Tyrone got a victory from the doubles team of Logan Harpster and Tyler Weston in a 4-1 loss to Juniata.

The loss drops the Golden Eagles to 0-3.
