Coaches in place for Mirror Classic

From Mirror reports

The coaches for the 2025 Altoona Mirror Basketball Classic are set.

The 18th annual Mirror Classic matches the top seniors from Blair County against an all-star team compiled from Central PA (mainly District 6 and District 5).

It will be held Thursday, April 3 at Penn State Altoona’s Adler Arena with the girls tipping at 6:30 p.m. and the boys at 8:30.

Chris Fleegle (Altoona Area High School) and Luke Rhoades (Tyrone Area) will coach the Blair County teams while Jason Miloser (Penns Manor) and Ryan Durham (Greater Johnstown) will guide the Central PA squads.

Fleegle guided the 2024-25 Lady Lions to a 24-3 record and the Mid-Penn Conference championship.

His six-year record at Altoona is 101-44.

Fleegle is a two-time Mid-Penn coach of the year selection.

The former Mount Aloysius player was previously an assistant at Bellwood with Ali Stinson, Hollidaysburg with Deanna Jubeck and Altoona on the boys side with Doug West.

He considers his coaching mentors to be the aforementioned along with Greg Burke and ex-Hollidaysburg and Altoona coach Kraig Hetz.

Fleegle and his wife, Haley, have one daughter.

Miloser is in the midst of his 13th season at Penns Manor, and he’s amassed a record of 234-99 heading into this weekend’s PIAA Class 2A western final against Bishop McCort — a rematch of the District championship game.

Miloser’s teams have played in three PIAA western finals, two Elite Eights and won one D6 title.

He’s also won four Heritage Conference championships and is a past Indiana Gazette coach of the year.

Miloser considers his coaching mentors to be Don Seanor, Bob Young, Steve Woodrow, Greg Lezanic, Jan Brocious, Ken Holby and Ralph McGinnis.

Miloser and his wife, Rebecca, have three children.

Rhoades just wrapped up his second season with the Tyrone boys after 17 with the Lady Eagles.

His 19-year record is 307-152, and his girls teams won a pair of District 6 championships.

His boys team this season finished 18-5.

Rhoades is a 1996 graduate of Tyrone, where he played football, basketball and baseball, and a 2000 graduate of Juniata College, where he played baseball.

He also serves as Tyrone’s athletic director.

Rhoades and his wife, Kara, have a daughter and three stepsons.

He considers his coaching mentors to be Bill Berrier, George Zanic and John Franco.

Durham has built one of the best programs in District 6 at Johnstown.

In his eight seasons, the Trojans are 121-38 with six District 6 Class 5A titles.

His career record is 230-100 overall, including six years at Ferndale.

Durham has also won a Laurel Highlands Athletic Conference championship and been the LHAC coach of the year twice.

While at Ferndale, he led the Yellow Jackets to three WestPac North Division titles and was twice WestPac coach of the year.

Durham played at Johnstown High School and UPJ.

He considers Dan Shipman and Bob Rukavnia as his coaching mentors.

Durham and his wife, Nichol, have two children.

The Classic is played in memory of Big John and Tom Riley, and proceeds benefit the Big John Riley Scholarship Fund at Saint Francis University.
