Spring cleaning to be held April 12

The Little Juniata River Association, a 700-plus member non-profit organization, announced that it will hold its 20th annual Riverbank Clean-up on Saturday, April 12.

The LJRA has removed tons of trash, tires and assorted other items from more than 20 miles of riverbank and roadsides. Each year since 2005, some 200 volunteers have turned out for the annual event. Individuals and groups are invited to help.

Volunteers can show up at 9 a.m. at either the Spruce Creek United Methodist Church in Spruce Creek or the New Pig Parking lot near Delgrosso’s Park. LJRA and area businesses will furnish bags, water, snacks and gloves.

All participants are encouraged to stay for a hot lunch provided by the Spruce Creek Church. Those interested in more information can contact Bill Anderson, bjuniata@verizon.net, or call 814-569-8843.
